Version 2.9

15 changes
Sep 13, 2026
  • added: Exams generated while you are on another page announce themselves when they are ready, and generation you navigate away from is picked back up when you return

  • added: Pressing Exam Mode on an unfinished exam now lets you continue it or generate a new one, so a wrong question count no longer means sitting the wrong exam to escape it

  • fixed: Exam scores were divided by a total the AI made up — a perfect paper could read 122% or 58%. Every exam is now scored against the points its own questions are worth, including when you retake an old one

  • fixed: Short answers and essays are now marked on what they actually say, so a correct paraphrase scores and a sentence that says the opposite of the answer no longer does

  • fixed: If marking fails on a written answer it is listed as ungraded and left out of your score, instead of counted wrong

  • fixed: Your exam is saved the moment it is generated — leaving the page or reloading mid-exam no longer loses the paper you paid a credit for, or the answers you had typed

  • fixed: Time limits now apply: the countdown is real, runs on the clock rather than the tab, and time running out submits the answers you actually gave instead of a blank paper

  • fixed: Exams you sit now count toward your streak and study time

  • fixed: Formulas in exam questions, options and weak-spot cards are typeset instead of printing raw LaTeX at you

  • fixed: Asking for more questions than a short scope supports now says so at the top of the paper, instead of quietly handing you half of what you asked for

  • fixed: Folders and pages open in a couple of seconds again, rather than taking 25–40 seconds while signing you in several times over

  • fixed: The Account page no longer shows "Free plan" with zeroed stats when a request expires — it retries, and says so if it still cannot load

  • fixed: Tab key stays inside the exam while you are taking it, instead of walking into the sidebar and Sign Out

  • changed: Generated papers now include a set number of multi-answer and essay questions rather than only multiple choice, and "none of the above" options are removed before you see them

  • changed: Exam questions are no longer copied into a hidden quiz that nothing could open, and could be appended to the quiz you actually study

Version 2.8

19 changes
Sep 12, 2026
  • added: Anything marked as recalled now has to quote the words you actually wrote — credit with nothing behind it is dropped

  • added: Every concept marked as missed gets a second look, and only stays a gap if your own words really do not cover it

  • added: Blurting results now tell you when part of your note could not be graded, instead of quietly leaving it off the chart

  • fixed: Topics you skipped entirely no longer score full marks

  • fixed: Ideas you wrote in your own words no longer reported as missed

  • fixed: Submitting the same recall twice now gives the same score — it used to swing by as much as 18 points

  • fixed: A formula written out in words now counts as fully recalled

  • fixed: Coverage bars mixing several topics together, and sections vanishing from the chart entirely

  • fixed: Your study plan and the "What you nailed" panel contradicting each other on the same screen

  • fixed: "You're exam-ready" appearing when part of the note was never assessed

  • fixed: A flawless recall still being handed a study plan telling you what to revise

  • fixed: Weak spot flashcards failing to generate at all from notes containing formulas

  • fixed: Weak spot flashcards and quizzes inventing material your note never mentioned

  • fixed: Weak spot quizzes asking about material you had just recalled correctly

  • fixed: Weak spot sets covering only the first few gaps instead of spreading across all of them

  • changed: Section coverage is now a list of rows showing each section's full name — readable on a phone and at any number of sections

  • changed: Strengths, Missed Concepts and Partial Recalls scroll inside their own cards instead of stretching the page

  • changed: Grading is split into two cached steps, so a second attempt on the same note is faster and costs less

  • changed: The weak spot buttons are replaced by a plain message when you have no gaps left to practise

Version 2.7

2 changes
Sep 5, 2026
  • changed: SparkStudy is now Nerith — new name, logo and wording throughout the app

  • fixed: Deleted folders no longer linger in "Recently studied" with nothing behind them

Version 2.6

3 changes

  • fixed: Smart Rewrite no longer flattens formulas back into plain text

Version 2.5

9 changes
Aug 27, 2026
  • added: PowerPoint (.pptx) uploads — one section per slide, slide images kept in the panel, and diagram text read out of SmartArt graphics

  • added: Diagrams and charts with no readable text are now described, so you can still study from them instead of having the upload refused

  • fixed: Audio recordings up to an hour are now accepted, and high-quality files are no longer wrongly rejected as too long

  • fixed: A slide that failed to read no longer silently disappears from your notes

  • fixed: Note scanning returns the whole page again, not just the handwritten parts of it

  • fixed: Filenames no longer influence generation — an English recording no longer produces Spanish notes

  • fixed: Long documents are recognized as long, so a 90-page PDF no longer summarizes down to three sections

  • fixed: Scanned PDFs now explain the page limit and how to fix the scan, instead of suggesting you re-upload every page as a photo

  • changed: Image reading moved to a model that reads more text for less
